Are you the kind of person who appreciates the work of an artist? Do you just love to sit back and maybe listen to jazz and have a nice glass of wine? (For those legal to drink that is). If you care to experience these special nights, head on down to 841 East Lounge and join them for Live Art Fusion.
Every Wednesday night starting at 7:30 pm, people attend the lounge to watch artist paint they’re works in front of them. While the artists are painting, you can enjoy wonderful jazz music performed by a live band. The artists get their inspiration from the music, other artists and even the audience who came to see them work. It’s very interactive and even more amazing to watch a blank canvas become a work of art in such a short time.
“The artists can come down here and paint anything but the fact that I got a great band playing live music basically standing in one spot is a vibe I can’t resist,” said Kirk Larsen a featured artist. Larsen gets his influence to paint by the band and the music they are playing. Once they start playing the inspiration starts flowing and his brush begins dancing on the canvas.
The Live Art Fusion hosts a group of artists and musicians. Live Art Fusion started in the first week of January; it is fairly new to the East Lounge. Some artists have been going since it started and some began to go as of last week or a month ago. Not all artists who go there are actually painting. Other artists attend to see the many kinds of art they might see and who they can meet.
“It’s a great experience painting, networking, meeting other artist and it’s real good,” said by Rosanne Harder. Harder was working a painting using glitter. She said not many people use glitter anymore and mostly used by kids. Harder wanted to use glitter in her work to give a that certain glow, when you looking at the painting it will kind have a sparkle to it, almost like a starry night.
